Copper epoxy antifouling coating
Three-component, multi-solid epoxy paint for diluting in water with a high concentration of 99% pure copper content, which produces copper oxide in the sea, with a high sliding coefficient, for painting vessels with low and fast cruising speeds, in their lower part below the sea water level, to prevent fouling – adhesion and vernicle accumulation, crops, algae, oysters, etc., contains a high concentration of 99% pure copper powder that regularly and over many years produces copper oxide against fouling, which prevents crops from sticking to the bottom of the ship , these toxins are resistant for a long time until all the paint wears off, a process that can take over 10 years . A layer of 250 microns gives the vessel protection for approximately 10 years.
Uses:
- Painting all types of small and large vessels made of steel/fiberglass/wood/aluminum in the underwater part.
- For painting yachts, tugboats, pilot and service boats, barges, racing and fishing boats, fishing and cargo ships, passenger ships and cargo ships, etc.
- for painting the ship’s propellers.

Drying between layers: 1 hour, final: 24 hours (depending on the ambient temperature) f
Introduction to water: minimum 24 hours of drying in the shade from the end of painting the last layer. and
- It is recommended to wait a few days to 5 days before launching, before launching you should go over the entire painted area with bright scotch tape or fine glass paper to expose the copper before immersing in water. and
Packing:
- 1.5 liters of base + 1.5 liters of hardener + 3 kg of powder. f
Application methods: mainly scrolling. Less suitable for brushing and difficult to spray. and
- It can be sprayed with water dilution and provided that the flow of the material does not stop and is constantly mixed to prevent copper deposition. In the event of a stoppage in spraying, the equipment must be immediately cleaned with water. and
- Recommendations for paint systems for repainting (not renewal):
- See article Copper Epoxy Antifouling Recommended Paint Systems for Vessels
Warning: Do not paint the antifouling paint in the sun, paint in a cool and shady place. Exposing the copper epoxy to direct sunlight without water will cause over-drying of the paint peel which will prevent it from functioning properly as SELF POLISHING and reveal a new layer of toxin each time. and
