The application of the paint and the preparation of the surface must be carried out in accordance with the requirements of TI 1871

asphalt:

Surface preparation:  the painted surface should be clean of any dirt, grease, loose previous paint.

New asphalt:  no cleaning required.

Old asphalt:  thorough cleaning of dust and dirt, degreasing with Z degreaser and washing under water pressure. Blow dry with air pressure. Crumbling asphalt with exposed gravel grains must be polished and/or scrubbed to obtain a stable and clean foundation.

Renewal of old paint:  thorough cleaning of dust and dirt, degreasing with Z degreaser and washing under water pressure. Blow dry with air pressure. Peeling paint must be removed by polishing.

Painting application:  using dedicated spraying equipment with a suitable nozzle that spreads a uniform layer of paint, spray 0.5 liters per square meter of paint or 720 grams per square meter. If the asphalt surface is not smooth and has a lot of bumps and depressions, spray 0.75 liters of paint per square meter or 1 kg per square meter. While the paint is fresh immediately after spraying, sprinkle standard glass beads Swarco solidplus 10 300-850 T15 M20 or Sovitec glasperlen beads GmbH approved standard 1423 in an amount of 400 grams per square meter. The balls should be 2/3 submerged in the paint and only 1/3 sticking out. Then both return and paint adhesion strength will be obtained.

Environmental conditions:  Do not apply on a wet road and not on rainy days or days when the humidity in the air is higher than 85%. Make sure that the ambient temperature is 3 degrees above the dew point, so that condensation does not form on the paint, which would impair its ability to dry and harden properly.

concrete:

For painting on concrete: scrub and polish to obtain a stable surface free of any contamination or cement water or white efflorescence stains. Do not paint on concrete before 30 days of curing have passed. Spray a diluted first layer with 35% water for impregnation. Waiting for drying until it is no longer sticky, this time varies depending on the ambient temperature 30-120 minutes. Spray a second layer 0.5 liters per square meter and spread glass pellets as per the standard 400 grams per square meter.
