Description of the problem :

Thermal insulation was necessary in the cooling and freezing room facilities of the Meir Hospital kitchen, where thousands of diners are served every day. Each room in the facility is set to a different temperature, depending on the type of food stored in it. To move the food, the facility’s workers use carts on wheels. But the height of the cold room facility must be the same as that of the entire floor so that the food carts can exit and enter the cold rooms from the kitchen safely and easily.

The problem was that the height of the floor of the cooling and freezing rooms was not lowered to perform conventional thermal insulation, which is mostly made of rock wool and its placement requires a relatively large thickness. The floor height of the cooling and freezing rooms was the same height as the floor outside.

Since it was not possible to apply a solution of thick thermal insulation, which creates a problematic level, Denber developed paints and coatings from Sderot, a thermal insulation material based on the Thermoseal Polyplex material , which is produced with nanotechnology.

Kogan added the great importance of the project for the hospital since lack of thermal insulation in the cooling and freezing rooms means the escape of cold and a great loss of energy as well as penetration of the cold into the lower floor of the building and the appearance of severe condensation which causes water to drip to the floor below. Condensation causing mold in the ceiling of the floor below.
