Coating of outdoor sports fields – execution specification

Super Flex Sport is a flexible, rough acrylic coating from Denver Paints and Coatings Israel Ltd.

1. Colored material for coating  Superflex Sport  must be ordered in an amount of 2 kg per square meter of area in each shade. Superflex primer primer black must be ordered a liter per 5 square meters.

2. • One must wait a period of one month in the summer and three months in the winter, after the asphalt coating of the field before approaching the top coating, so that the curing process of the asphalt is finished and it is completely dry. You can check at the end of this period that when wetting the asphalt with water no oil floats on the water and it remains clear.
   • Do not apply the sports court coating when:
     • The expected air temperature is lower than 12 degrees Celsius at the time of application or in 48 hours after application.
     • Do not apply on rainy days or when it is expected to rain on the day of application or two more days after.
     • When the asphalt temperature is higher than 42 degrees Celsius.

3. Requirements relating to the performance of the coating:
   • The execution will be in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, Denver Colors Ltd. and this specification. All materials including the shades and paint for markings will be made in Denver.
   • Before starting work, the asphalt surface will be thoroughly cleaned. Do not wet with water.
   • Polish the surface to remove bumps and vacuum well.
   • The entire surface must be coated with black superflex primer. 1 liter per 5 square meters is given with a mop or roller.
   • With a 3.6 m long wooden or aluminum ruler, go over the surface and mark dents larger than 5 mm.
   • Sockets must be filled with Superflex Sport in 1 mm thick layers until filling to “zero” height. Wait between layers for each layer to dry.
   • Cracks in the asphalt must be filled with  Polyflex 225  thinned for full filling.
   • At the end of drying for about 24 hours, gently polish and smooth the filling areas.
   • Dust must be cleaned and a layer of black Superflex Sport Primer applied to the repair areas and scratches created by polishing. wait for drying.

• Apply a first coating layer in the desired colors with a thickness of about 0.8-1 mm with a dedicated wiper and wait 24 hours for drying.
• Apply a second layer 0.8-1.2 mm for a smooth and uniform finish with a dedicated wiper. You can go over with a wet roller for smoothing.

   • Markings must be made using appropriate templates
   • The lot must be marked with Denway type road marking paint made by Denver.
5. Do not go on the field for 24-48 hours. to ensure final drying.
6. The field should be smooth and even without bumps that could cause the ball to deviate from its path. A review must be conducted with a 3.6 meter long wooden or aluminum bar. A deviation from the flatness of up to 6 mm and up to 4 points in the field is allowed. And with a 1 meter ruler in these places no more than 5 mm. If there is a large deviation from these, an additional thin coating must be performed with a 2 meter wide dedicated wiper for final leveling.

Touch drying :

Drying between layers:

• 4 hours depending on the thickness of the layer. Final: 3 days. (The data is correct for the summer for work in an outdoor field, in a closed hall the times may be longer)

Application methods:

• Do not apply on rainy days.
• Rolling, spreading with a serrated bar and smoothing with a roller.
• Huge rubber mop for applying in an even layer.
• Dispersion – metal or serrated rubber squeegee for uniform distribution and finishing with a roller.
• Roller – to dilute up to 20% water for the first layer. 10% dilution for second layer. of a 1 mm wet layer.

Area preparation and application instructions:

• Thorough cleaning of dust, grease, dirt and loose paint.
• Washing with water pressure at least 150 at to remove loose paint and loose parts,
• Repairing bare spots and cracks with acrylic putty, waiting for complete drying and painting a first layer of Superflex Sport about 1 mm thick. After 4-24 hours when the first layer has dried, apply a second layer of 1 mm wet.
