High build in 3 coats acrylic single component, self-eroding (polishing) and self-renewal paint, very smooth, contain 99% purity copper and copper/cuprum oxide red or blue (contain no tin), for coating the under level of the water, parts of bottoms of ships to prevent high thickness growth/fouling of sea weeds, oysters and shells that sticking and accumulating and disturb and slow down the smooth fast movement of the ship. Suitable for low and high speed cruising sea crafts. The toxicity of the pure copper and the cuprum oxide is long lasting and provide full protecting defense for minimum 3 years for 3 coats of 100 micron dry film each. (For more than 3 years protection – use the Epoxyden antifouling copper)

Properties:

  • Environmentally friendly and contains no tin compounds.
  • Slippery coat can reduce the fuel consumption 4-15%
  • Rich in copper and cuprum oxides and confers protection from fouling and various tumors on the bottom of the vessel, for high and low speeds sea crafts.
  • Very strong adherence to EPOXYDEN SOLCOAT layer.
  • Contains a toxin that prevents tumor development in the bottom parts of sea craft that under the water, (causing a slowdown in the speed of the vessels and a large waste of energy to overcome the extra friction).
  • Quick drying and multi-thickness paint. Can be applied in several layers to get desired thickness for desired protection. Recoat time short due to rapid drying.
  • Excellent adhesion between layers.
  • Has the characteristic of self-erosion that exposes each time a new layer and fresh without fouling cumulative.
  • Resistant to heat and cold and sea extreme conditions in salty seawater and fresh water.
  • Optimized to friction in seawater for slow cruising speed, no friction resistant for rough ice and / or harbor walls.
  • Flexible and powerful and suitable for immersion in sea water and fresh water for many years and have durability for shocks that vessel gets.
  • Easy to apply spray / roller.
  • Dries quickly. Can be applied in 4 layers of 100 microns each for a resistance of 3 years or more.

Applications:

  • Painting under water surfaces of all types of large and small vessels, boats, sea crafts, carriers, made of steel/fiberglass / wood /aluminum.
  • Painting: yachts, tug boats, router and service vessels, barges, fishing and racing boats, fishing and cargo ships, passenger ships, military all sizes ships .

Contains:

  • Acrylate resin self-polishing for Antifouling paints.
  • Special flexibility materials.
  • Pigments- cuprum oxide red or blue marine,
  • 99% pure copper powder.
  • Solvents and additives.

Touch-dry time:

  • 30-60 Drying time with wheel – (Israel standard 935 part 304 correction No. 2 – < 45 minutes).
  • As the paint acrylic fast drying – avoid over spraying. If dust is formed while spraying before the wet paint reaches the boat surface add a These dry grains will fall with the layers of paint on it in the first cruise. To avoid it – low the spraying pressure, add thinner and retarder, spray closer to the ship/boat surface 20-25 cm, until you get a smooth layer while spraying. If in every layer you do not get the 100 mic. wet layer needed, spray more layers to get minimum total thickness of 300 mic.

Drying time period between layer application:

  • 2-4 Final:  6-8 hours. (according environment temp.)

  • Recommendations for renewal antifouling paint :
    • Can be done up to two years from the date the ship was in dry dock and painted with antifouling, and in condition that primers and intermediate layers are fix and intact. If you have a massive damage in these layers, they must be repainted according new repainting specifications.
    • Rinse thoroughly with fresh water in high pressure up to full removal of salts and contaminants.
    • A gentle sanding to the whole surface to renew until a clean matte finish.
    • Hard fouling polish rough for full removal to reach the middle paint coat layer and make sure it is perfect dry and smooth, with no defects.
    • If there are minor flaws such as tumors/bubbles of rust – polish or clean sand blasting locally and completely eliminated until a white metal appears.
    • Do painting correction in this places as repainting specifications. Steel scales which took off and left socket you can align to zero with putty polyflex 225 hard and flexible. After drying sand with disk and align with diamond or corborundum disk. Repaint primary coat Epoxyden HB19 solcoat red before the putty.
    • Remove all dust with rinsing, wait for drying and paint layer to connect of 50 microns of Epoxyden HB19 solcoat gray and after 12-24 hours paint the first layer of 150 Micron wet and then 2 more layers like this for getting 300 microns dry paint. In the fortic recommended to add more 1-2 layers like this as the erosion there is much stronger.
