ZINC  RZ – high temperature anticorrosion zinc rich primer silicate paint for 540oc SSPC  PAINT 20 Type 1C Inorganic – self- cured, solvent-borne silicates

Industrial basic color based on air drying silicate with pure zinc for painting a foundation layer for high heat emitting elements up to 540 degrees, for cold galvanization, for high quality cathode anticorrosive protection for chimneys, ovens, heat exchangers, turbines, etc. and as a foundation before painting in a Aluma silicone paint system for 540°C and/or as the foundation for Silicon Acrylic paint for 200oC. In a non-acid/alkali/marine/outdoor atmosphere, this paint can be left as a final layer of 75 microns. This paint should be applied in a uniform layer so that the zinc grains are in full sequence for cathode protection.

Technical data:

  • theoretical coverage – 1 liter per 7 square meters on a smooth surface.
  • Consumption – 135 microns wet leaves 75 microns dry. 1 kg to 3-3.5 sqm.
  • Flexibility – 2 mm (sheen).
  • Solids of –65% by volume/
  • density Part A – 1.1-1.15 gm\cm3 plus dry zinc powder 1.9-2.1 gm\cm3
  • viscosity – 2-4 (HAAKE).
  • Hardness – 3 Dg (Erickson) after 30 seconds in the oven 200 degrees.
  • Recommended layer thickness -75 dry microns which are 135 microns wet.
  • Recommended number of layers – 1 thick of 115 microns wet and if there are leaks due to vertical painting or sharp inclines, 2 layers of 70 microns wet can be given 24 hours apart.

Drying to the touch:

  • 6 minutes
  • hard drying 6 hours.

Drying between layers:

  • 24 hours.
  • Final:24 hours in temperature room with humidity 50-70%.
  • Final hardness – 7 days

application methods:

  • brushing, spraying.
  • Spray – 4th pressure recommended.

Dilution:

  • D-21 diluter / D32 thinner.
  • Brush/roller – 5%.
  • spray gun – 5-10% .
  • Airless: 0-5% Pressure 5-6 0.021 inches nozzle.

Surface preparation:

  • Sand blast cleaning should be performed up to white metal 2.5 – SA is recommended for roughness of about 50 microns.
  • Various mechanical erosion can be performed but the level of field preparation for painting will not decrease from 2.5 – SA.
  • In sensitive places of irons at work with bronze brushes, 2.0 – SA can be closely supervised by all grinding processes.
  • Thorough cleaning dust, fat, dirt and loose paint.
  • To replenish old zinc color – rinse with high water pressure and/or sand rinse until the original shade of zinc is obtained and all salts and accumulated dirt are removed. Wait for full drying before painting in a new layer.

Instruction for use:

  • Open the can carefully, and mix well.
  • While stirring add a thinner 21
  • continue mix well for about 3 minutes.
  • Pour quantity for use to Airless suction pipes and while mixing throughout the painting process – spray the paint.
  • Without muxing the entire zinc spraying process will sink and there will be no painting in a uniform layer.
  • A large zinc concentration at the bottom will clog the Airles and the spray will be dry ,OVER SPRAY.
  • Use a spray paint gun suitable for zinc erosion of the nozzle while painting.
  • It is recommended that you filter the paint in an appropriate net before start painting.
  • Should be applied on days when temperatures do not exceed 40 degrees and humidity in the air is no less than 50%.
  • After drying the primer layer, spray a very thin layer of top paint to penetrate into the zinc pores and later a thicker normal second layer.

  • Thinner 21-D at the end of painting.
